About our Council

Our Lady of Peace Council was founded April 15, 1984 through the efforts of the parishioners.  In 2014 we celebrated our 30th Anniversary of providing service to our parishes and local communities. Click here for more history of the Council.

It was named for the Blessed Virgin Mary under the title "Our Lady of Peace"To Catholics Christ is peace. We pray: "May the peace of Christ be with you".  Mary is Our Lady of Peace, because she aided in the reconciliation of humanity with God like nobody else. With the fullness of her person she aided the entry of peace into this world, and throughout her life, she lived by His will and not her own. Peace in the Catholic tradition means to do His will.

Our Lady of Peace Council carries on the devotion to the Blessed Virgin Mary and Jesus Christ by working closely with St Francis of Assisi and St Ignatius Loyola Parishes in Mississauga, Ontario, providing funds for various projects, and with members being active participants in their parishes.
